Reforestation agroforestry

shaping the forests of the future

Sustainable development for both the nature and the people of the Amazon

Our commitment is not just to save the rainforest and the climate – but also to empower the people of the Amazonas.

We want to enable prosperity for the indigenous people hand in hand with nature conversation and thus create a bridge of economy and ecology.

Our vision is to create a forest of future, where nature can bloom and people can flourish in harmony, where modern technologies and ancient knowledge meet in order to find a new balance in the amazon ecosystem.

Our mission

The indigenous people shall become guardians of the forest again, as they carry the old wisdom of the jungle in their hearts. Combining their wisdom with modern technologies and new knowledge, we want to create forests of the future – where plants, animals and humans can grow together into a new era of consciousness.

Vision

The indigenous people shall become guardians of the forest again, as they carry the old wisdom of the jungle in their hearts. Combining their wisdom with modern technologies and new knowledge, we want to create forests of the future – where plants, animals and humans can grow together into a new era of consciousness.

The jungle shall be restored in a way where people, plants and animals can coexist.

Agroforestal concepts are like permaculture just in a bigger picture. It is the transition from monoculture, what is known to vast the soil and destroys the habitats of animals, to a more natural way of cultivating several plants together, what preserves the soil, enables biodiversity and leaves space for bigger trees to provide shadow and oxygen.

There are several plants supporting each other when planted together and that have a high national and international demand. Instead of planting cacao alone, what drains out the soil quickly and often leads to new cases of slash-and-burn farming, the cacao can grow in the shade of precious woods and banana trees, while the floor is filled with vegetables and medicine plants.

Trees and plants benefit from each other, as they supply shade and nutrients. Less pesticides are needed what attracts animals and insects and therefore increase the biodiversity. Natural agroforestry systems are more resilient to climate change and help mitigate its effects thanks to the large trees.

    - shihuahuaco, an ancient giant tree, considered as a grandfather tree and ecological cornerstone of the ecosystem
    - chestnut, ceder and mahagony, all precious woods with a high demand

  • Vegetables and fruits
lemon, camu camu, pijuayo (peach palm), caimito (star apple), guava, pineapple and açai, the popular superfood with growing demand

  • Medicinal plants
like the ayahuasca vine with an increasing global demand as well as specific medicinal plants known by the indigenous people that serve for different diseases

  • Climate reduction

  • Nature preservation

  • Increasing biodiversity

  • Flood and erosion protection

  • Sustainable cultivation

  • Future role model for other native communities

  • Stable livelihoods for indigenous population

  • Carbon credit certificates

Support

To realize the vision of agroforestry-based reforestation, we reach out from our heart for support.

It is a special project, as it offers an unique opportunity to mitigate climate change, protect nature and, at the same time, empower indigenous peoples.

Supporting this project means investing in something that brings a real and sustainable change in the rainforest. The pilot project aims to serve as an example for other native communities, and thus can help restoring the Amazon’s ecosystem step by step.

For organisational support on this and other projects of the Embassy of Indigenous Peoples in Peru, the Switzerland and German based ‘Alianza Amazónica’ association was established.

We are deeply grateful for any form of support and look forward to exchanging further information and details!
