Development of projects in support of Indigenous communities living in the Peruvian Amazon region.

The Indigenous Embassy, represented by Ambassador Roger Bardales, together with the Ministry of Culture, represented by Manuel Pedro Vásquez, paid a visit to the Embassy of France in Lima to explore potential projects and solutions in support of Indigenous communities.

They held discussions with First Secretary Stéphanie Carpentier regarding the needs and priorities of these communities, including the formal titling and defense of ancestral lands, reforestation through agroforestry approaches that both protect the forest and ensure food security, and, in particular, the revitalization of Shipibo culture through the preservation of its arts, languages, and dances, with the aim of safeguarding the cultural richness of the Amazon.

The Embassy of France expressed openness to supporting these initiatives and agreed to coordinate a follow-up meeting with a technical team in order to develop concrete projects aimed at ensuring the long-term well-being and future of Indigenous peoples.
